Anal glands are as unpleasant as they sound! Many dogs, and occasionally cats, suffer from blocked or impacted Anal Glands. Signs of this include excessively chewing or licking their bottom or lower back, ‘scooting’ (dragging their bottom on the floor) or sometimes an unpleasant fishy odour. When this happens, your pet likely needs assistance expressing this blocked material. If left untreated the anal glands may become infected or rupture.
Most dogs – and their owners – find this unpleasant. Having us express your pet’s anal glands at home provides a calm and safe environment, minimising stress and saving you time!
