Microchipping is an important part of pet ownership. It is a legal requirement throughout New Zealand to have your dog microchipped and an increasing number of districts now require cats to be microchipped – including Selwyn. In addition, having your pet microchipped and registered (with up-to-date details!) on the New Zealand Companion Animal Register greatly increases the chances of having your pet returned to you if they are lost, stolen, or injured.
