July was a very busy month for us. In the last newsletter I mentioned Ollie was having blood work, urinalysis and a CT scan. Things progressed very quickly and he has had another major specialist surgery this month – more on this below. I have also been very busy preparing a presentation with a colleague discussing the realities and rewards of shelter medicine. We were due to present this to a group of fellow vet nurses last week when illness struck and we had to postpone. Hopefully we will have that rescheduled soon.
The rest of the month disappeared with SPCA locum shifts, volunteering at my agility club’s shows, celebrating Galen’s birthday and helping my Nana celebrate receiving an award in recognition of her service to her community over the years.
